Samsung has managed to surprise everyone all over again with its 30 inch 3D AMOLED prototype at the FPD 2009.
It has a thickness of just 2.5mm and boasts of a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Samsung plans to bring back the 3D craze and create a magical experience for viewers.
This 30 inch OLED panel has utilized Samsung’s Simultaneous Emission with Active Voltage 3D technology. For seeing the 3D images on the Full HD resolution panel, special glasses have to be used.
Although nothing has been specified by Samsung about the price, it will obviously be expensive and well beyond the means of a consumer. The company has also not revealed dates of mass production.
The AMOLED panel featuring 240Hz has much hyped shutter glass technology. This technology has been used to cut down on the dizziness related to 3D enabled devices. The concept of being dizzy after watching 3D images has become a thing of the past with the latest needle thin AMOLED panel by Samsung.
