LG-Display has finally announced that the development of the 55 inch OLED TV is now complete.
The first details and pictures of this amazing product are now available online. The development of the 55 inch OLED TV is a significant movement in OLED technology and can make the movement toward cost efficient, large panel OLED TVs a reality.
The image quality in this TV is remarkable. Its high reaction velocity causes the absence of any after image. It has a wider color gamut with a contrast ratio of 100,000:1.
The difference with conventional LCDs is that the diodes can be turned on or off as and when required and this contributes significantly toward low power consumption. The thickness is only 5 mm and it is lighter than an LCD.
Select customers and media will be able to see the 55 inch OLED TV at CES-2012, to be held at Las Vegas.
