Samsung, the largest OLED panel manufacturer in the world has planned to build their new 8 Generation pilot production line for producing OLED TVs.
As per the reports received from Korea, Samsung has plans to manufacture 55 inch OLED panels and this new production line will allow the company to build 4,000 of these panels every month. The new production line will be housed in the same building that currently houses their 5.5 Generation production line.
Yoon Boo-Keun, Head Samsung TV, had said in September that due to the strong price resistance, it is a little too premature to produce OLED TVs on a commercial basis. Brian Berkeley, VP Samsung OLED, had though said that we will soon see OLEDs hitting the market. Even market reports seem to suggest that it is not be too far when OLED TVs hit the retail stores.
We are waiting for further updates from Samsung. Stay tuned for further news from us.
