AMOLED Roadmap Chart Released by DisplaySearch

An AMOLED roadmap has recently been released by DisplaySearch.

DisplaySearch deals in display market research and consulting. In their latest 2009 issue of the Annual Small/Medium TFT LCD and AMOLED Product Roadmap, a report shows the roadmap of medium and small sized TFT AMOLED and LCD products and applications.

The world is waking up to the new concept of OLED (Organic Light emitting Diode). Besides the unparallel picture quality, OLED display panels are known for their flexibility and their power saving ability.

OLED panels do not require a backlight and conserves power. The Director of Small/Medium Displays Research, Hiroshi Hayase, stated that the market of small and medium TFT LCDs are expected to witness a major change in the following years.

This is the result of increased demand and the introduction of the mass production of LCDs and OLEDs. AMOLED display will be used in notebooks and TVs after their successful application in mobile phones.
