This news comes as a bit of surprise.
We have come to know that LG Display has reported heavy financial losses due to the continually weakening demand from TV makers. However, when you see the report by French bank BNP Paribas you get to know that the bank predicts that the LCD TV market has reached its peak and has already started its downward journey as far as consumer demand is concerned.
BNP Paribas has predicted that the sales of LCD TVs will keep diminishing by 3 to 4 percent every year starting now. One of the primary reasons for this slide is the increase in demand for newer display technologies like AMOLED.
However, BNP Paribas’ prediction seems a bit optimistic at the moment because as far as we know it will still take at least 2 to 3 years for OLED TVs to make their entry into the market and gain market share.
