A new company to be created by LG for dealing with OLED technology

The patents related to OLED technologies will now be handled by a new company created by LG.

The new company will be created under the supervision and investment of LG Chem, LG Electronics and LG Display. The new company was scheduled for a late 2009 launch. This new company will be named LG OLED and will handle all patents concerning OLED.

One of the first products to be handled by LG OLED will be the OLED patents of Kodak. Kodak had decided to hand over the responsibility of the OLED department to the new company formed by LG.

LG is one of the leading manufacturers of OLED panels. Phones with OLED displays and TVs are being manufactured by LG Electronics, while OLED panels of varied sizes are being produced by LG Display.

OLED lighting is being handled by LG Chem. All the LG OLED products will be marketed in the next couple of years
