A better display technology could be on the way: QLED

Amid all the hustle and bustle around OLED technology we suddenly now have something that is considered even better than OLEDs.

We are talking about the Quantum dot full color display that was recently showcased by Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. This new display uses what is called as QLED. The showcased model has a size of 4 inches with QVGA display and with a resolution of 320×240 pixels. This new model is implemented on a glass substrate.

The QLED technology is supposed to create displays that will be longer lasting and brighter than those created with OLED technology. It is also being said that the manufacturing cost of LCDs and OLEDs could be halved if the new QLED technology is used.

The world is still coming to terms with this new technology called OLED and now we hear about something further new. It will be interesting to see what happens in the near future.
