DuPont received award for developing high performance OLED or Organic Light Emitting Diode displays.
By the proprietary usage of Gen 3 DuPont solution OLED materials, the company for the first time demonstrated a manufacturing process based on a solution in which the OLED can be printed without entailing any additional expenditure. The high performance obtained can be cherished all through one’s life.
Complexity involved in the manufacturing process and the expenditures involved made the OLED production a very slow process. These stumbling blocks have been effectively conquered by DuPont.
The portable OLED displays are readily available in the market these days. However, the high cost involved in manufacturing process along with the unavailability of the requisite tools have constrained manufacturing of large sized OLED displays says David Miller, the President of DuPont Electronics & Communications.
He further says that with the printed OLED materials it is possible to reduce the overall cost of production. The manufacturing processes can be scaled for accommodating the display size of the TV.
