DuPont promises inexpensively OLED displays

DuPont develop innovative and long lasting solutions to improve the performance and to reduce the production cost of OLEDs.

Previously DuPont declared that they have accomplished to develop a new process of printing OLED displays inexpensively. The company had also reported that in printed OLED (organic light emitting diode) displays they have achieved the best ever lifetime performance. This would make the future adoption of OLED displays in TVs possible.

One major problem of OLEDs was that the different color compounds present in the OLED display would decay at different speed which would make it difficult to develop OLED displays that can deliver accurate colors for a longer period.

The new printed OLED displays, that have used the DuPont Gen 3 solution process, have accomplished to deliver 29,000 hours for the red color components, 110,000 hours for the green and 34,000 for the blue at standard brightness level of television which will be sufficient for up to 8 hours a day more than 15 years.
