OLED screens have captured the market in a big way. eMagin’s SXGA OLED XL Microdisplay testifies that. In a diagonal active area of just 0.77 inch, this display allows digital signal processing.
The display has a brightness of 100 cd/m2 but consumes 200mW under normal working conditions. OLED display has been used by eMagin to improve contrast and enhance pixel uniformity. This Microdisplay has an on-chip temperature sensor which has gamma and luminance compensation.
According to eMagin, the Microdisplay can be used for a variety of purposes including simulation for video and mobile entertainment, tactical awareness, night vision, medical imaging and training and thermal imaging.
Technology is developing at a pace where new and improved products are in constant demand. For the recent developments in mobile information products, OLED display was required to give high resolution images. OLED fits the bill for the various applications as it gives increased brightness with reduced power consumption.
