The plasma televisions that consume huge amount of power, leading to indescribable problems for the government and the environment, run the threat of being banned.

Authorities are exploring the economic viability for replacing them with OLED televisions.

The new energy performance standards will also help in recognizing the best and the worst televisions. It will also help in distinguishing the most efficient TV models from the rest. The California Energy Commission proposed that the new television models should use half the energy they are using presently.

This new announcement is in keeping with the Eco-Design campaign, which aims to cut down on power consumption. OLED TVs come as a refreshing change at this time. OLED TVs consume considerably less energy as compared to the other flat screen TVs.
