European market to have LG EL9500 in May

The largest OLED TV in the world, the 15 inch LG EL9500 will be launched in Europe in May 2010 and in the U.S. this summer.

The Austrian market will be the first to flaunt this jaw dropping OLED TV with a price tag of 1.999 Euros. LG Electronics, a leading producer of consumer electronics, had taken everyone by storm when they had showcased the 3mm thick high-tech wonder.

Besides having cutting edge picture quality, this 15 inch OLED TV from LG has 1366 x 768 pixels HD ready resolution. It has a response time of 0.001 ms and a contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1. The LG EL9500 is as light as feather and is water repellent.

According to Reinhard Huebner, Retail Marketing, LG Electronics Austria, the next generation technology of Organic Light Emitting Diode is suitable for flexible surfaces. Extremely thin and light weight panels can be made using the OLED technology. This helped in making the LG EL9500 one of the slimmest TVs in their portfolio.
