Flexible OLED by Kodak displayed under water

Kodak has taken OLED panels to its next level.

They took up the challenge of making the moisture-sensitive OLED display function under water. This is a remarkable achievement for the research team of Kodak.

Lately FOLED (Flexible Organic Light Emitting Diode) has opened up new avenues in the display and lighting industry. These OLED displays can be rolled up and even embedded in clothes.

Kodak has kick started this new trend of water resistant FLOED by showcasing a virtual aquarium with the panels displaying image of fishes to Playmobil people.

The company confirms that this is just the beginning and the technology will be developed beyond this initial application.

Kodak has increased the scope for the use of low cost FOLED applications. The images of the prototype released by Kodak clearly show the waterline above the OLED panel. The process of development of this flexible OLED has not been divulged yet.
