Flexible OLEDs displayed at CEATEC 2009 by Sony

Sony has taken the OLED technology one notch higher by unveiling the flexible OLED laptop and an OLED bracelet walkman at the CEATEC this year in Japan.

The flexible 0.2 millimeter thin OLED panel was the cynosure of attention at the show. While the content was being displayed on the surface, the OLED panel could by bent forward and backward. The GrandTurismo videos were displayed and the bending of the panel showed no distortion of image.

Each show has Sony showcasing new concepts using latest technologies to its fullest. The Mp3, the bracelet and the notebook are bendable. This draws back memory of a similar prototype displayed by HP earlier.

The flexible OLED laptop did away with keyboard. A swanky display was substituted in its place. Sony also displayed other stunning concepts like a Digital Camera Projector, the high frame rate MotionFlow and 3D Entertainment.

Information about the price and commercial launch of these products has not been divulged by the company.
