Flexible OLEDs to be launched by ModisTech in 2010

ModisTech has been working on OLED technology since 2001.

It was announced in 2009 that the flexible OLED panels would be launched in 2011. However, the 150 x 150mm flexible OLED panel will now be commercialized in 2010.

ModisTech is the only Korean company that has been developing flexible OLED surface lightings. They can be the first one to get something like this to the market. These OLED panels will be used for different kinds of indirect lighting applications like car lighting and desk lamps.

The flexible OLEDs not only give off more natural light than any LED panel, but also save equal amount of power. With the slogan of “paper like, fabric like, film like”, the company wants to change the idea to lighting from something that could be ‘installed’ to soothing that can be ‘attached’.

The high luminance and the flexibility of the OLED panels will make them perfect for usage in airplanes, automobiles, kitchenware and furniture.
