FPD International 2010 in Japan sees new panel from Samsung

The FPD International 2010 held between November 10 and 12 in Japan saw Samsung Mobile Display introduce their new 7 inch AMOLED display panel.

The screen resolution of this panel is WXVGA of 1200×600 pixels. The middle of 2011 will see Samsung open its new 5.5 generation plant and production will increase from 3 to 30 million small and medium size panels per month. The same year will also see Samsung sell this new panel.

It has been heard that Samsung is planning to introduce this panel for the Tablet market. The next Galaxy Tablet will have Super AMOLED screen.

The newly enhanced capacity will allow Samsung to target every customer with small and middle AMOLED panels. The company has promised to provide every manufacturer with Super AMOLED panels of different sizes. So, companies like Apple can also now use one of these panels for one or more of their future products.
