Improved Power Supply from TI for AMOLED displays

Texas Instruments have introduced a new 200-mA dual output power supply that aims to improve picture quality for AMOLED panels that require both negative and positive rails.

This new output, called TPS65137 uses low dropout post regulator for load and line transient response combined with minimum output voltage ripples for providing this better quality of picture for AMOLED displays in smartphones and mobile phones.

With the 2.3 V to 5.5 V range, the devices can accept higher positive input voltage along with minimum output voltage ripples and still manage the accurate regulation of 1% of the positive output voltage.

There is the advanced power save mode that maintains high efficiency throughout the load current range without any noise.

The negative output voltage is digitally managed to give between -2.2 V and -4.9 V in the digital step.
