Innovative laser structuring process for OLED thin films by 3D Micromac

An innovative laser structuring process has been developed by 3D Micromac Ag for OLED thin film layers.

The laser system has been developed based on microSTRUCT workstations. An almost transparent semiconductor of indium oxide that is tin-doped is used in the laser system as the material for anode.

According to 3D Micromac, the ultra short pulsed laser will eliminate chances of material damage at substrate level. The anode is gently structured to bring this effect. A variety of scalable substrate sizes can be made using this new laser structuring process.

A structuring speed of 1 meter per second is used by employing a new software controlled scanner machining concept. This laser system can also add more layers of OLED.

Removing defects and repairing short circuits from the system has been rendered easy by the use of this new laser structuring process. No micro cracks are left during micro marking of glass using this athermal laser machining system.
