The first company to have introduced the OLED technology to the world is Eastman Kodak Company. Kodak will now launch an OLED that runs on low power and has powerful colourful display.
This new model will boast of the patent KODAK OLD Material EK GD403 that makes use of green dopant technology. The green dopant technology enhances the performance of the OLED screen by controlling the colour output.
The new KODAK OLED Material EK GD403 will be used in combination with KODAK OLED Material EK BH109. The luminous efficiencies will be more than 31cd/A and 65,000 hours lifetime. This OLED material will have 8.7% external quantum efficiency.
Industry experts reveal that OLED market will expand to more than $5 million in the next 6 years. KODAK had been honoured with the 2008 Technology Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan. KODAK promises to improve the quality of OLED materials every year.
