New laser system from 3D Micromac for OLED structuring

A new exciting range of production solutions for the processing of OLEDs will be introduced by 3D Micromac AG.

OLED panels are ultra thin and measure up to a few millimeters in width. Thin film layers of various organic semiconductors are present in the OLED panels. Till now wet chemical or mechanical technologies were used in structuring the layers of organic semiconductors.

3D Micromac has a new solution called selective laser structuring which will soon be available in the market. This state-of-the-art structuring solution is based on microSTRUCT workstations. This laser structuring was developed for selective structuring application of anode layers. Tin-doped indium oxide is a transparent semiconductor that has successfully replaced the anode material.

This new laser system will enable easy repairing of short circuits or other damages in the semiconductor layers of the OLEDs. Ultra shot pulsed laser has been integrated in microSTRUCT for structuring of the anode without damaging the material at a substrate level.
