LG Display’s new W-OLED Panel showcased

SID-2010 saw LG Display show their new 15 inch W-OLED panel with improved lifetime and less discoloration.

The issue is that the green is brighter and red definitely has a higher lifetime than blue. In standard panels the ageing starts immediately. So, the RGB brightness needs to be kept in check to avoid the panel going through color changes.

W-OLED is a white light emitting panel and displays all the colors by using color filters for each and every pixel. Hence the images are more colorful and every time you refresh, more pixels are released. The ageing process of the panel remains the same due to the polymer film.

W-OLED is a 15 inch panel with outline dimension of 384x211x1.7 mm and HD resolution of 1366xRGBWx768 pixels. The color depth is 8 bit with 16.7 million colors; the brightness is 200 nit with color gamut of 100%. The contrast ratio is 100,000:1. And it is a Bottom Emission Type 120 Hz Frame frequency panel.
