Last week has a mix of good and bad news from the OLED TV market.
Sony gives us the disappointing news about the postponement of their next 27 inch OLED TV. The 27 inch OLED TV was supposed to succeed the 11 inch XEL-1. The reason of the delay is the huge loss that the company has suffered lately.
If the 27 inch OLED TV goes into mass production, the loss will be greater. The sales of XEL-1 have been low owing to the recession. The decision of Sony to delay the launch of the 27 inch OLED TV is logical as the sales are predictably poorer.
However, the good news comes from LG.
LG will launch their 15 inch OLED TV soon. The company unveiled the 15 inch AMOLED TV prototype at the consumer electronics show IFA held in September this year.
This OLED TV will hit the stores in Korea by November and will be launched globally in 2010.
