The 15 inch LG OLED television will hit the stores by December 2009.
The production of the OLED TV since June has been confirmed Won Kim, the Sales and Marketing Vice President of LG OLED TVs. Korea will be the first to witness the launch of this TV. The global launch will follow soon after.
LG plans to overshadow its rival Sony XL-1 11 inch OLED TV with a lifespan of 30,000 hours. With a promise of better resolution that XEL-1 (960×540 pixels), the LG OLED television has consumers eagerly waiting for it.
LG has also said that their 32 inch OLED televisions will hit the market by 2012.
The 15 inch OLED TV that was on display at the CES 2009 held in Las Vegas, is 0.8 millimeters thick and has a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels.
LG had experimented with OLED technology in their mobile phones flaunting AMOLED screens.
