As the manufacturers are overcoming the various hurdles to producing OLED displays, new avenues are opening up.
There are greater chances for market leaders like LG producing larger OLED screens in the near future. LG has revealed its plans of making a 20 inch OLED screen in 2010, 30 inch OLED screen in 2011 and a 40 inch OLED screen in 2012.
The Vice President of LG’s OLED Sales and Marketing has confirmed the plans and added that despite the high price tag of the OLED screens, they can be afforded by 2012.
After introducing the 15 inch OLED TV at IFA 2009, LG wants to mass produce the larger screens. Market experts are of the opinion that the price of the OLED screens might discourage the common man from purchasing it, but by 2016 OLED screens will be cheaper than the LCD TVs.
The latest manufacturing technology will bring down the cost of production.
