Philips has made headlines again with the launch of the Lumiblade OLED lighting concept.
It is on display at the Euroluce International Lighting Fair being held in Milan from 22nd to 27th April. Visitors are awe-struck by wide variety of shapes (rectangles, circles, hexagons, triangles, and even “free-shapes”), sizes and colors of the Lumiblade OLEDs.
Philips has presented the Lumiblade OLED lighting concepts in the consumer and professional sections. A few ceiling-mounted models and table lamps are included in the consumers group.
The most interesting aspect of these lighting concepts is the ability to interact with users. Some of them react to hand movements while some professional products react to folks passing by.
However, LUXEON Power LED has been used along with OLEDs to facilitate functional lighting. Philips remarked that OLED are like playthings for designers who can use them in art-works, clothing, jewelry, furniture and vehicle. The company has not revealed its plans of launching the Lumiblade OLED lighting concepts in the market.
