Matsushita Electric Industrial Co, one of Japan’s leading manufacturers of electronic goods, announced their plans of launching 37-inch OLED televisions in the next three years.
Television manufacturers are in perpetual competition to come up with the latest technologies. The latest technology to have created ripples in the industry is OLED screens.
Matsushita follows the footsteps of other rival companies in the manufacturing of OLED televisions. But Matsushita will be the first company to manufacture OLED televisions larger than 30 inches. With the massive 37 inch OLED televisions screens Matsushita is all set to capture the global television market. These OLED televisions will be available for 150,000 yen.
OLED wins over the LED screens in the fact that OLED does not need backlight to operate. OLED televisions are also economical in terms of power consumption. The competition is no more about the largest television, but about the slimmest screen. OLED is a step forward in achieving this goal.
