Sony, a world recognized brand-name, has beaten everyone else in the amazing use of OLED Technology in your home. The Sony XEL-1 OLED TV with it’s 3mm thin panel, incredible picture quality and wide 178′ viewing angle is now available in the US and Japan for $2499.99.
The picture quality of the The Sony XEL-1 OLED TV rivals that of plasma TVs and can be viewed from all around the room, not just in front. The 960×80 resolution equals that of 1080p on an HDTV and of course does this without taking up half your living room. It has two HDMI inputs, a digital tuner and a memory stick media slot for viewing hi-resolution pictures.
Being so thin, The Sony XEL-1 has a weight of only 1.9 kg and the energy efficiency of this 11″ screen is 40% less than that of a typical 20″ LCD screen.
The OLED technology gives you over the top picture quality with a response time to give you clear high action viewing for sports and action movies. It’s ability to turn the pixels off give you clear dark scene details.
People will no doubt forsake their plasmas and HDTVs for the OLED. The picture quality of Sony’s first OLED Television really does need to be seen to be believed.
At this point, Panasonic is planning to introduce a 37″ OLED television in the next three years and Samsung is working on putting out it’s own OLED television. Right now, however, Sony is our top company with it’s already available XEL-1 11″ OLED TV.
