Mitsubishi unveils 149 inch OLED panel at ISE

The Japanese company, Mitsubishi Electric, has announced that it will present their latest 149 inch OLED panel at the 2010 Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) scheduled to start next week.

This will be the biggest existing commercial OLED panel in the world at 149 inches. This technology had made its debut at the CEATEC 2009 held in Japan.

The screen size measures 1920 x 3264 mm and has a resolution of 1088×640 pixels. With a brightness of 1.500 cd/m sq, this huge OLED screen allows a minimum viewing distance of 2 m.

With 3 mm pixel pitch, it presents very bright and sharp images. The brightness of the images of the Mitsubishi 149 inch OLED panel has already surpassed that of the LCD screens in the market.

Mitsubishi has a modular approach that enables them to seamlessly create the huge OLED panel. The 149 inch screen consists of several smaller 10×10 cm square units.
