First OLED Diamond Vision sold

The Mitsubishi OLED Diamond Vision series was introduced a few weeks ago and the first sale was made in Darmstadt to their partner Merck.

Merck, in their reception area, uses the largest OLED display in the world. Visitors are welcomed through this 3.8mx2.3m display. It weighs 480KG and has a resolution of 1,280×768. Mitsubishi informed that a square meter costs €35,000.

Diamond Vision OLED offers a wide viewing angle of +/-80. It also offers about three times the light output of an LCD and double the light output of an LED at 1,200cd/m2. It is ideal for brightly lot areas like airports, shopping malls and stations.

Diamond Vision OLED is made of multiple standard OLED modules of 128×128 pixels. Each of these modules is 8KG in weight and measures 384mm2. Diamond Vision OLED is completely scalable to create endless screen sizes and shapes, even round. It also costs less than a comparable LED screen.
