New OLED microdisplay by Rohm

At the latest CEATEC 2010, Rohm is showcasing its new OLED microdisplay.

Unfortunaltely, there is not much news that we have about this at the moment. All we have are a couple of photographs of the microdisplay that can be found when searched in some of the search engines.

It was way back in 2007 when Rohm had unveiled their colored OLED microdisplay prototype. This particular microdisplay prototype had a 320 x 240 pixel resolution.

They had announced at that time that the company was working on a new panel with 640 x 480 pixel resolution. We can only guess at the moment that this latest microdisplay prototype will have a higher resolution than that.

At this moment, there is nothing much other than speculation. We will wait and see what Rohm comes up with and we are hoping it will be soon. Till that time, stay tuned and wait for our further updates.
