Another company to join the OLED bandwagon is Matsushita Electric Industrial Co from Japan.
Matsushita is already finalizing its plans of mass producing large 37 inch OLED TVs by 2012. With their new line of OLED TVs, Matsushita is all set to give tough competition to the other flat screen TV manufacturers.
According to the Sankei Shimbun daily, Matsushita will be the first company to enter mass production of OLED TVs more than 30 inches. The Matsushita OLED TVs will be priced at $1390. The company plans to challenge Samsung in acquiring the highest share in the global flat TV market.
Akira Kadota, the spokesperson of Matsushita, quoted that they aim at the commercialization of OLED TVs. However, details on the date of the launch and the size have not been confirmed.
Although Matsushita planned to launch the OLED TVs soon, Fumio Ohtsubo, the President of Matsushita, predicted that the demand will not start before 2015.
