Novaled AG of Dresden, Germany, has unveiled a prototype of an OLED lamp called Victory Lamp at FineTech Japan, held between 15th and 17th April 2009.
An OLED wall made from 12 OLED screens of 20 by 20 sq cm and with a thickness of 0.7 mm was also showcased by Novaled.
Novaled is a leading manufacturer of next gen display and lighting products. This company has used an innovative defect-tolerant structure for the OLED lights. This will make the OLED lamps apt for lighting large areas.
Novaled OLED lamps have a homogeneously lit surface. Uniform lighting is achieved by the interlocking comb shaped electrodes present in the OLED lamps. The OLED lamps will not be damaged in spite of shorts in the stripes owing to the resisting power of the stripes that restricts the flow of current and the subsequent increase in temperature.
Lighting applications have been broadened by the introduction of Victory lamps. These OLED lamps have Novaled PIN OLED® inside that it makes it different from the rival companies.
