philips-invisible-oled1

The days of opaque OLEDs will soon be gone. Philips is preparing to launch the new invisible OLED panel.

This invisible OLED will usher in the next generation transparent OLED displays and TVs. The R&D leg of Philips, Philips Research, has been working to the invisible OLED panel that would be lit when switch on and totally clear when switched off.

Philips plans to create an OLED pane that would also serve as a source of light and screen for display of images. This invisible OLED panel can be placed on the window for viewing sceneries.

The invisible OLED panel is of 12 cm owing to technological limitations. Although the invisible OLED panels will take another few years to be launched, they are definitely the most highly awaited items in the electronics world.

Some European companies are also working on invisible OLED panels, in the project OLED100.
