New photos and details of LG’s 55 inch OLED TV

A week after LG Display officially made an announcement about their upcoming 55 inch OLED TV, LG Electronics has now released their own PR with new photos and details.

Some interesting marketing messages have also been released. The model number 55EM9600 was also released. LG Electronics has said that the new panel uses their Color Refiner and 4-Color Pixel features. RGBW, the four colors, are made from white OLED sub-pixels with color filters from Kodak’s technology.

Color Refiner is a set of algorithms that refines and improves tones and hues.

As per LG, the 55 inch OLED TV can generate the most natural colors compared to any other TV. The price point is also much lower than what could be if the standard OLED manufacturing process was used.

Other details include: weight of 7.5kg and thickness of 4mm. Price and release date is unknown although speculations say $8,000 and Q3 2012 respectively.
