It has been revealed by KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) authorities that a research team headed by Prof. Kyung Cheol Choi has made useful discoveries that will enhance the emission efficiency of OLED displays.
Prof. Choi belongs to the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has discovered OLED’s surface Plasmon.
Prof. Choi is of the opinion that this discovery will revolutionize the OLED display industry because of the efficient emission. It will lead to many new technologies with the flexible OLED display panels.
The discovery was discussed in the June 25 issue of the Optics Express as well as the April issue of the Applied Physics Letters. The August issue of the Nature Photonics and Virtual Journal of Ultrafast Science will also feature details of the discovery by Prof. Choi.
Thermal deposition of silver nanoparticles on the cathode on high vacuum was done to localize surface Plasmon.
