PureTouch to help produce cost effective touch screen displays

PureTouch, the world’s first single layer, multi touch, capacity controller has been developed by IDT (Integrated Device Technology).

As per Integrated Device Technology a normal multi touch display has two or three layers of ITO but they managed to create PureTouch by using just a single layer.

The advantage of using a single layer, multi touch, capacity controller is that the touch screen displays can now be produced in a more cost effective manner.

At the same time, the touch screens will offer to users more efficient and brighter displays. And the good part of all this is that this single layer, multi touch, capacity controller can be used both for AMOLED as well as LCD displays.

There is, however, only one limitation of this new technology. At present, it can only work on small sized displays. It works on displays that are up to 5 inch in size. The maximum resolution available is 1024×1024.
