PVI Postponed the Launch of New Color E-Paper

PVI has postponed the color e-paper launch till 2010 as the product has failed to achieve the desired results.

It is highly disappointing for those who were expecting the device within this year. But PVI has tried to compensate for this disappointment by revealing Sony’s plan for launching a bigger e-book reader by the end of 2009 to beat the Amazon’s new Kindle DX. Scott Liu, the PVI chairman has also anticipated the same.

Though Sony has not yet confirmed this news, PVI is supposed to be the provider of the 9.7 inch OLED panel which Amazon has used for its Kindle DX.

PVI has used color filters and E-Ink technology for developing their latest color E-paper to overcome the limitation of being able to display only the grayscale images and texts.

PVI has also announced that this year they are going to introduce various B&W e-papers of different sizes.
