QD Vision and LG to produce QLED

There is another new joint venture that has been announced, this time between QD Vision and LG Display.

The new joint venture will create high performance and highly efficient active matrix displays that are based on QLED, or electroluminescent quantum dot LED. As per the announcement made by QD Vision, these new displays will use less power than any other technologies, including OLEDs.

They will also offer richer and brighter colors. The production cost of QLEDs is also less.

QD Vision announced several other advantages of QLEDs apart from lesser power consumption and low cost of manufacturing. They said that the display colors will be absolutely pure and the panels will be ultrathin, flexible and transparent.

It was way back in 2009 when an interview with the founder and CTO of QD Vision was published. There he had explained the technology of QLEDs and their application in lighting and displays.
