Samsung OLED TVs pose a threat to the popularity of LCD TVs

The Vice President of Samsung has talked about the future of OLED TVs at the FPD International this year.

According to him, 40- and 50-inch OLED TVs can give tough competition to the LCD TVs in the near future. The various manufacturers of OLED panels are experimenting with size.

They have overcome numerous hurdles for successfully producing large OLED panels. This makes market experts predict that one does not have to wait too long for a 40-inch or 50-inch OLED TV at home. It will hopefully be available in the next 4 or 5 years.

The 4th generation production line of Samsung Mobile Display had produced a few AMOLED panels lately. After exploring the world of televisions sets, the company plans to produce Notebooks and Netbook using OLED displays.

The life of these OLED displays will be around 50,000 hours and will have 90 percent manufacturing quality.
