Samsung’s reply to Sony will be seen at the IFA Consumer Electronic Show 2009.
Samsung is all set to showcase 14 inch and 31 inch OLED TVs. These uber thin OLED panels are expected to steal the show with their 1080p video and brilliant contrast.
The 14 inch model is said to have a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and a thickness of 2.7 mm. A free viewing angle and 1073 million colors are giving tough competition to the rival OLED panels. This OLED panel also boasts of 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 200cd brightness.
On the other hand, the 31 inch OLED panel from Samsung is 8.9 mm thick. It has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 200cd brightness. It can display 16 million colors and has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. This too has a free viewing angle.
The 31 inch model is said to be the world’s first OLED panel with full HD display.
