Samsung Mobile Display has recently reported that they have started construction of the company’s new Gen AMOLED plant.

The new plant will start production in July 2011. The new plant will have a monthly capacity of 30 million 3″ displays

According to the report Samsung has already committed the investment needed for the construction of their new 5.5 Gen (1300X1500mm) AMOLED plant which will mainly have 3 lines. The company has invested $2.2 billion for this new plant.

By the third quarter of the running year the company plans to install the equipments and in 2011 July the 5.5 Gen Samsung AMOLED plant will start producing 3 million displays per month.
