Samsung unveils 14 inch transparent AMOLED display for notebooks

Out of the many outstanding products showcased at CES-2011 one that received a lot of attention was the 14 inch transparent AMOLED display.

This product belongs to Samsung Mobile Display and is especially built keeping notebooks in mind.

The most attractive feature of this product is the qFHD resolution of 960×540 pixels that transpires to 78 PPI. The panel is also impressive in its transmission output of 40 percent that is the top output in the world for displays in this category.

The brightness is brilliant at 200 cd/m2. When compared to NTSC the color gamut is more than 100%. The viewing angle is also free thanks to the advanced AMOLED technology.

Judging by the number of people who flocked the SMD booth to have a look at this new 14 inch AMOLED panel it indeed has a bright future when such panels are released commercially and in a cost effective manner.
