Showa Denko Presents Phosphorescent Polymer OLED Devices

lg-3d-lcd-panelA new coating method has been developed by Showa Denko K.K. for making phosphorescent polymer OLED.

There has been an increase of 40% in light extraction efficiency. This in turn will enhance the performance of OLED televisions.

It has been claimed by Showa Denka that the luminescence efficiency of 30lm/W is the highest in the world achieved by any OLED device made by coating method. With a lifetime of 10,000 hours, the OLED device is made of layers consisting of coating polymer.

Since there is no vacuum in the OLED device, it can be used for making large OLED displays and OLED televisions in future at a lower budget.

Light reflection has been adjusted in the OLED device with the use of layers of dielectric or heat conductor. The light output has been improvised as the layers decrease the amount of light trapped inside the panel.

The longevity of the device is attributed to the layer of dielectric or heat conductors. These layers help in heat dissipation preventing heat loss of the emitter.
