Sony is looking forward to launching a 27-inch version of its impressive OLED television set before the end of next year, says Howard Stringer CEO.

Sony launched the very first OLED television in late 2007, the 11-inch Sony XEL-1 model. It has the distinction of being the first commercial OLED TV in world.
At same time, Sony displayed the prototype of a 27-inch OLED screen which has a thickness of about 0.3 millimetres. This larger OLED screen is still in the early product development stages, Sony is still working on being able to mass produce a 27-inch OLED TV.
Sony hasn’t as yet announced any sort of sale target for it’s OLED TVs yet. But we think Sony will be a leader in the pack when it comes to pushing OLED TVs.
