Sony XEL-1 out of North American markets

It was confirmed by Sony last week that the XEL-1 OLED TV will be available in markets apart from Japan.

However, the markets are portraying a different picture. A spokesperson from Sony Style location of Toronto confirmed that the XEL-1 OLED TV is no longer available for sale.

North American customers seem to be deprived to the privilege of bringing home the first OLED TV home. An online buyer will be disappointed to see that Sony OLED TV is not available at the Sony website. Chances of getting the XEL-1 are better for buyers in U.K. and Australia. The high price for this 11 inch OLED TV might have discouraged consumers as well as suppliers.

The company had earlier terminated sales of the XEL-1 in Japan. This $2,500 beauty did not win the hearts of the consumers. Although Sony is launching new OLED products, the consumers will not be fully ready for OLEDs before three or four years.
