SID 2010 saw Sony unleash another of its products in the OLED domain – an 11.7 inch OLED display.
This display has oxide semiconductor TFT as its driver element. Sony has suggested that this new product with this new technology will have a lifespan of at least 10 years.
The research laboratory in Atsugi Kanagawa in Japan is the place where this panel has been developed.
Some of the features of this panel include –
- Pixel resolution of 960 x 520.
- Brightness of 600 cd/m².
- More than or equal to 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
- 100% or more color gamut when compared to NTSC.
- With an all white signal, the maximum screen luminance is 200 cd/m².
- TOS (IGZO) TFT + AM-OLED (Top Emission) device structure.
- Mobility of 11.5 cm²/Vs.
- The number of colors are 10 bit RGB.
Sony expects to make it big in the market with this new technology.
