The website of Samsung Mobile Display is currently showing OLED Max, an IC that is 6 x 6 x 0.6 mm in dimension.
With this new IC, Samsung has reached image resolution levels of up to 800 x 1024. Other features include RGB, 12C interfaces and ¾-Wire SPI.
This new OLED Max technology can be used to optimize image quality to the extent that it resembles the natural color. There are various algorithms that are used to enhance the quality of an image by converting it to the image optimized for AMOLED.
Some technologies applied in OLED Max include block noise improvement, better sharpness, color space conversion and low gradation emphasis favorite color conversion. The image optimized for AMOLED can also be used for realizing a vivid screen.
Samsung is already working on their next generation driver called OLED Max II. The company has also introduced some teaser videos on their OLED displays.
