Toppan Printing Company and Casio will work together in manufacturing LCDs and OLED panels of various sizes.
A new company will be established by Casio for the production of small- and medium-sized OLEDs. Toppan Printing will purchase around 80% of the new company’s shares. The new company is supposed to have 600 employees and will start production from February 2009.
Launching the new company for OLED displays is Casio’s step forward in the competitive market. The OLED panels will succeed Casio’s new range of small and medium sized LCDs and TFTs (thin film transistors).
The new line of OLEDs and LCDs will combine fabrication technology by Toppan Printing and display production technology by Casio. The LCDs and OLEDs will boast of the Hyper Amorphous Silicon TFT (HAST) technology of the founder company, Casio.
The new company will continue developing high quality products and will focus on strengthening Casio’s existing customer base.
