Toshiba Mobile Display, the joint venture between Toshiba and Panasonic, has planned to wait before they get into the mass production of OLED panels.
Toshiba Mobile Display had earlier declared that they would be going ahead with the production and distribution of OLED panels but are now willing to wait and watch.
The reason for this delay or the waiting period is the continuing high popularity of the LCD panels. People all over the world are still very excited about the LCD displays and this may not be the right time to introduce the more expensive OLED panels.
Masahiro Kume, spokesperson for Toshiba Mobile Display has stated that the company has presently frozen the mass production of OLEDs. The entire production plan of OLEDs will be completely reviewed. The whole process will be taken up from scratch and looked at again.
We are also now waiting for further communication from Toshiba Mobile Display.
