Last week buzzes with OLED TV news

The OLED circuit has been buzzing with news from LG and Sony in the preceding week.

good news comes from LG. LG announced that their 15 inch OLED TV will be launched soon. LG, the second largest TV manufacturer will present the 15 inch AMOLED TV at the IFA held in Berlin in September 2009. The AMOLED TV will hit the Korean markets in November and will have a global launch by 2010.

According to a report by DisplaySearch, the number of OLED TV in the market is estimated to be 320,000 by 2011 and 2.33 million by 2013. An LG executive revealed that a 40 inch OLED TV will also be launched in the near future.

The bad news comes from Sony. The company is postponing the launch of a larger 27 inch OLED. The ongoing economic meltdown has compelled Sony to take this decision. The XEL-1 is the last OLED TV from Sony.
